Sport at CBC Boksburg plays a very large part in the holistic education of the boys in our care. A healthy mind in a healthy body and a balanced lifestyle is what we strive towards.

The overall running of the sport at CBC is the responsibility of the Sport Office Staff. This department consists of a Sport Director and seven full time sport organizers in charge of the various sports. Many teachers are also very involved in the coaching and day to day administration of sport at our school.

Sports Offered at CBC:

Prep School - Cricket, Swimming, Rugby, Soccer, Hockey, Tennis, Squash, Golf, Cross Country

High School - Cricket, Swimming, Rugby, Soccer, Hockey, Tennis, Squash, Golf

CBC Boksburg takes part in all the Edmund Rice Sport Festivals in the various sport codes. The Edmund Rice Festivals are basically inter-CBC competitions and take place annually and are hosted by the various CBC’s in South Africa and Zimbabwe. At the end of each festival pupils who have excelled are recognized by being selected for a SA CBC Team.

In an effort to maintain the high standards of excellence and to improve our sport, CBC Boksburg employ additional coaches in the various sport codes. These coaches, with the very involved CBC staff, give the boys in our school every opportunity for participation and enjoyment from a social standard up to and including provincial representation.

We have also set up facilities to get the maximum benefit for our boys. Such facilities include an Indoor Cricket centre and fully stocked weight training gym, keeping with our goal of getting each boy to have a healthy, happy  mind and body.
