CONDOLENCES
The
Prep. School wishes to express its sympathy with the Bryans, Gordon and
Marais families on the passing away of Matthew’s (7V) grandmother,
Jonathan’s (5K) grandfather and Lance’s (4O) sister recently.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you during this sad time.
YEAR 7 FAREWELL MASS AND DINNER
Well
done to the Year 6 staff, parents and boys for hosting the Farewell last
Tuesday. The Mass, conducted
by Fr Lewis, was very special. A
big thank you to Mrs Barnett and Mrs Stoop for organizing the enjoyable
dinner function.
WHEELS’ MORNING AND YEAR 7 ENTREPRENEURS’ DAY
All
boys are invited to participate from 09h00—13h30.
There will be many interesting, exciting and fun stalls on
display!
ACADEMICS
Your
son was given a copy of the exam timetable with his mid-term report.
Encourage your son to prepare thoroughly for the upcoming exams
from 14—28 November.
PRIZE-GIVING
Prize-giving
next week (Thursday 13 November) starts at 08h15.
Boys may go home after prize-giving (about 09h30) or study
supervision by Prep. Staff will be available for boys until 13h00.
STUDY DAY—WEDNESDAY 19 NOVEMBER
Boys
may stay at home to study, or study supervision will be available at
school until 13h00.
EXTRA-MURALS
All
extra-murals finish off with Saturday’s final cricket matches against
St Peter’s.
Congratulations
to our Squash Champions for 2008—Daniel Barry (senior) and Jonathan
Gordon (junior). Our Tennis
Champion for 2008 is Dominic Dias, who beat Brendon Lindsay in a
thrilling final on Tuesday. The
Swimming teams have had a very hectic season participating in the Friday
galas and Inter-Primary relay galas recently.
Well
done to this year’s Chess Champion, Charldon Viljoen, who beat Callan
Brombacher in the final.
CROSSING OF THE QUAD CEREMONY
Parents
are invited to attend from 10h30—11h00 on Friday 28 November, where we
welcome the 2009 Year 4 boys, present Year 6 boys with their scrolls,
and finally take leave of the Year 7 leadership group.
School closes at 11h00.

|
Brent is a dedicated and hardworking student.
He has produced excellent work this term and gives his best
in all he does. Brent
actively takes part in cricket, swimming and chess.
He is a star in the swimming team and attends all practices
and galas. Well done

Kensell Debideen
|
Kensell is a quiet, diligent, well-mannered young
boy who has worked so hard again this term.
He participates keenly in cricket and chess and did a great
performance as a young “girl” in his duologue during the
Eisteddfod.

Jordan Williams
|
Jordan
has played exceptionally well in the last two cricket matches and has
proved himself to be a great asset to the team.
Jordan
is trying hard to do his best in class too.
He participates well in chess.

Matthew Lavis
|
Matthew’s excellent leadership qualities and quiet
determination make him an excellent Head Boy.
He was appointed as Cricket Captain this term and has led
his team from the front with his bowling.
He achieves good results academically and his public
speaking skills have greatly improved during this year.

|
Miguel should be commended on his positive attitude
in class as he is a very enthusiastic pupil who is always eager to
participate. He has
made us very proud lately as he has put a lot of effort into
improving his standard of work.
Miguel played hockey, tennis and chess this term.

Keegan MacGregor
|
Keegan is a very friendly and well mannered boy who
always gives of his very best in class.
He has once again worked very hard to maintain his
excellent academic results. Keegan
enjoys playing cricket and chess.

Stephen Kisbey-Green
|
Stephen is a keen, interested pupil who has a very
positive attitude towards his school work.
This term he has given 100% of himself and this is
reflected in his good marks. Stephen
played in the inter-house chess championships and he participated
in numerous sections of the Eisteddfod where he performed well.

Warren Wallendorf
|
Warren
has worked steadily throughout the year, but in Term 3 he has made good
progress academically and we know he will show us just what he can
achieve in the exams.
Warren
participated in the Eisteddfod and plays hockey, soccer and
cricket.

APPRECIATION OF OUR SUPPORT STAFF
At
the end of each year we give each of our support staff members
(maintenance & cleaning) a hamper of goodies to show our
appreciation for all that they do for the boys behind the scenes.
We ask that each boy bring an item for these hampers as
follows—
Year 4—tinned meat or fish or
rice
Year 5—1kg sugar
Year 6—1kg flour
Year 7—packet of biscuits

generous donations for these hampers.
