St Boniface High School

The school is under a new Principal MS NOMVULA ADELAIDE DONDOLO, the FIRST LAY BLACK FEMALE principal after the school has been under the leadership of the CHRISTIAN BROTTHERS.

Brother Madden who has been principal  of the school for over 20 years  and Mrs Patricia (Mevrou) Hart retired at the end of 2006.  Mrs Hart was a teacher in this yard  since 1966.

This is not only history but a huge transition for everybody, the teachers, learners and the community.  This has been a real challenge for the New Principal and the Management Team.

Brother Allan Joubert has joined the St Bons community and Academic Staff. He is mainly involved with Grade 12 Religion.  He is an inspiration to all.

The 2114 Youth Foundation

AIM

Is to broaden the construction industry by introducing the youth into it.

How we were selected

We saw the advertisement.  Then we sent our Maths and Science marks, we were selected and had to go for an interview and we were successful.

Soccer stadium model

We have to design a model of a Soccer Stadium.  Our model will be judged during construction week.

IF WE WIN

The school gets financed.

We get bursaries for our whole school career and everybody is guaranteed a university bursary.

Learners involved

  1. Desiree Seane (Writer)
  2. Refilwe Monethi
  3. Katlego Kailane
  4. Kagisho Moikoatlhai

The two computer rooms are fully functional and learners use these on a daily basis from lessons, typing assignments and doing research on the internet.  Teachers also use these computers for their school work.

Sports

We hosted a soccer and netball  inter CBC mini-tournament.  Schools that participated were St. Bons, St Patrick’s, St Bernard’s and Mariasdal.

Indigenous games were also introduced this year.   Our learners took part in these games in Winsorton and were selected to be part of the squad which will be playing with other provinces.
