Senior Primary (Yr 4 - 7)
The Senior Primary School learners (Year 4 – 7) experience an individual and personal environment where they are encouraged to develop a strong bond with their classmates. The class size of 23 – 25 boys allows the quality staff to interact with the boys on a personal level.
Lessons are based on the CAPS system, as prescribed by the GDE, and are supplemented according to the needs and interests of the learners.
Assessment is cumulative-based and two sets of exams are written in July and December. The Year 6 and 7 learners also write external assessments to ensure they are working in accordance with the standards set in other Gauteng-based independent schools.
Academic support in English, Afrikaans and Mathematics, as well as a Homework Supervision class, are offered in the afternoons.

Ten sports disciplines are offered to the boys, and these are: Cricket, Swimming, Tennis, Squash, Athletics, Soccer, Rugby, Hockey, Golf and Cross-country. Inter-House matches, as well as Inter-School matches, are played.
There are two Inter-CBC Festivals held each year, one in summer and one in winter. Boys belong to four different games houses and these are: Albion – Yellow, Caledonia – Blue, Hibernia -Green and Cambria – Red. Various Inter-House events are held for the various sporting disciplines.
Boys can choose from the following cultural activities: Marimbas, Pipe Band, Chess, Public Speaking, Enviro Club, Brainiacs, Debating and Computers. We participate in Inter-House and Inter-School events in these cultural activities.
All boys are expected to participate in at least one sport and one cultural activity each term.
An inclusive leadership structure for the Year 7 learners ensures that leadership and independence skills are nurtured within the secure environment of the school. The Leadership Structure includes portfolios in House and Class Leadership, Ethos, Terrain, Security and Media/ Communication, and the boys rotate through the portfolios during the year.
Year 7 learners are also eligible for the unique, annual week-long CBC Leadership Exchange Programme.
